# Chainlink grants: is the grant program still open?

> Chainlink grants are no longer offered: the grants page has returned 404 since July 2025. What we found, and open programs for oracle and data infrastructure.

Last reviewed 2026-10-31. Dates are UTC.

Chainlink grants are no longer available. The Chainlink Grant Program page at chain.link/community/grants was live in a May 2, 2025 archive snapshot, has returned a 404 error since July 11, 2025, and was still offline when we checked on October 1, 2026. No replacement grant program has been announced, and the last grant award posts date from 2022.

## Key takeaways

- The Chainlink grants page has returned 404 since July 11, 2025, is missing from chain.link's current sitemap, and was still 404 on October 1, 2026.
- The last Chainlink grant award posts date from 2022, and old grant posts now redirect to the blog index.
- Chainlink has published no announcement about ending the program; the closure is inferred from the page removal, the missing sitemap entry and no award posts since 2022.
- Chainlink's current builder programs, such as Chainlink Build, are commercial agreements for service access and support, not grants.
- Oracle and data infrastructure teams can apply instead to open programs such as The Graph Grants Program ($1,000 to $325,000 in GRT) and the Flare Grants Program.

## Is the Chainlink grant program still open?

No. The Chainlink Grant Program, sometimes called Chainlink community grants, stopped being offered in mid-2025. Here is what we found when we checked on October 1, 2026:

1. The program page at chain.link/community/grants appears in an [archive snapshot from May 2, 2025](https://web.archive.org/web/20250502074232/https://chain.link/community/grants) and has returned 404 since July 11, 2025.
2. No grant page appears in chain.link's current sitemap or site navigation.
3. The last grant award posts on the Chainlink blog date from 2022, and old grant posts now redirect to the blog index.
4. No replacement grant program has been announced.

Chainlink has not published a post explaining the change, so the closure date is the window in which the page disappeared: between May and July 2025. We removed the program from web3grant's directory because there is no way to apply. Other grant lists that still describe it as open are out of date.

### What about the old application form?

The old Typeform application still loads, but no Chainlink page links to it. A form that the organization no longer points to is not a live program, so we do not treat it as a way to apply.

## What the Chainlink Grant Program funded

Chainlink Labs ran the program from 2020, with community, integration, research and social impact tracks. It funded individuals and teams building developer tooling, adding data sources and launching services around the Chainlink Network, and paid in cash, LINK or both. Past grantees include Nomic Foundation, Chaos Labs and Protofire.

Its focus areas were:

- Smart contract developer tooling.
- Reference projects that combine several Chainlink services.
- Education for developers.
- Integrating Chainlink oracles into new blockchains.
- Academic research on oracles.

Chainlink also posted requests for proposals (RFPs), such as blockchain integrations, that anyone could bid on. It never published a program-wide grant range. The only figure we found is from an October 2020 post on Blockchain Integration Grants, which were described as "$100,000+": a floor for that one track, not a cap for the program.

## What Chainlink offers builders now

Chainlink's current builder programs are not grants. Programs such as [Chainlink Build](https://chain.link/blog/chainlink-build-program) are commercial agreements that give projects access to Chainlink services and support. If you need cash to build oracle integrations, data feeds or developer tools, you will need to look at other ecosystems' grant programs.

## Where oracle and DeFi infrastructure builders can apply

Several open programs in web3grant's directory fund the kind of work Chainlink grants used to cover: data infrastructure, oracle-based apps, cross-chain messaging and security. All of these took applications on a rolling basis as of October 31, 2026.

| Program | Fits | Grant size |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [The Graph Grants Program](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/the-graph-grants) | Indexing, data services, Subgraph and Substreams tooling | $1,000 to $325K in GRT |
| [Flare Grants Program](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/flare-grants-program) | Apps using Flare's FTSO and FDC data protocols | Not published, paid in FLR |
| [Analog Grant Program](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/analog-grant-program) | Cross-chain apps and data queries on Analog | Up to $50K |
| [Cardano PRIME](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/cardano-prime-defi-grants) | DeFi primitives on Cardano, including oracles and bridging | Not published |
| [Aqua Revenue Stream Incubator](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/1inch-aqua-incubator) | Oracle-based pricing and market making on 1inch Aqua | Up to $50K in USDC |
| [Reactive Dev Fund](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/reactive-network-dev-fund) | Event-driven, cross-chain dApps | REACT, from a $3M fund |

### Data and oracle infrastructure

The Graph is the closest match for data infrastructure. It funds protocol R&D, Subgraph and Indexer tooling, new data services and dashboards, and community education, with past awards from $1,000 to $325,000 in GRT. The Flare Grants Program makes integration with Flare's own data protocols, the FTSO for time-series data and the Flare Data Connector for cross-chain and internet data, a selection criterion, and pays in FLR by milestone.

### DeFi and cross-chain work

Cardano PRIME lists oracles, perps and bridging among the DeFi building blocks it wants on Cardano, and accepts teams moving from other chains. The 1inch DAO's Aqua incubator pays up to $50,000 in USDC, in exchange for a revenue share, for new trading strategies including oracle-based pricing. Analog funds cross-chain apps built on Analog GMP and apps that query data through Analog Watch.

### Security and research

If you need an audit rather than a grant, the [Ethereum Audit Subsidy Program](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/ethereum-audit-subsidy-program) covers up to 30% of an audit for teams building on Ethereum mainnet. Academic researchers who would once have applied for a Chainlink research grant can look at the [SDF Academic Research Grants](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/stellar-academic-research-grants), which give universities up to $150,000 for a year of research on topics such as cryptography, formal verification and DeFi market mechanisms; the Q4 2026 review round runs until December 31, 2026.

Our guide to [Web3 RFP grants](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/web3-rfp-grants) explains how to find and answer requests for proposals like the ones Chainlink used to post.

## How to check whether a grant program is still running

Chainlink's case is not unusual: a program ends without an announcement, and old pages and third-party lists keep describing it as open. Before you write an application, check three things on the organization's own site:

- The grants page loads and links to a live application form.
- There is a recent award announcement, round or report, ideally from the last 12 months.
- The page is linked from the main site navigation or sitemap.

If any of these fail, treat the program as closed until the organization says otherwise. Our roundup of [Web3 grant programs closed or paused in 2026](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/web3-grant-programs-closed-2026) covers more than 50 programs in the same position, and [how to find Web3 grants](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/how-to-find-web3-grants) explains how to build a shortlist of open ones.

## FAQ

### Does Chainlink still give grants?

No. Chainlink Labs removed its grant program page between May and July 2025, and the page has returned 404 since July 11, 2025. The last grant award posts date from 2022, and no replacement grant program has been announced as of October 2026. Chainlink's current builder programs, such as Chainlink Build, are commercial agreements for service access and support rather than grants.

### Can I still submit the old Chainlink grant application?

The old Chainlink grant application form still loads, but no Chainlink page links to it, and the program it belonged to has not been listed since mid-2025. A form the organization no longer points to is not a live application route, so treat it as closed, and be cautious of anyone who claims to process Chainlink grant applications on Chainlink's behalf.

### How much did Chainlink grants pay?

Chainlink never published a program-wide grant range. The only published figure is from an October 2020 post on Blockchain Integration Grants, described as "$100,000+", which was a floor for that one track rather than a cap. Grants were paid in cash, LINK or both, and covered community, integration, research and social impact work.

### Is the Chainlink Build program a grant?

No. Chainlink Build and Chainlink's other current builder programs are commercial agreements that give projects access to Chainlink services and support. They do not pay non-dilutive grants the way the old Chainlink Grant Program did. Teams that need grant funding for oracle or data infrastructure should look at other ecosystems' grant programs instead.

### Where can I get funding to build oracle or data infrastructure?

As of October 2026, The Graph Grants Program funds data services and indexing tooling with past awards from $1,000 to $325,000 in GRT, and the Flare Grants Program funds apps that use Flare's FTSO and Flare Data Connector. Cardano PRIME also lists oracles among the DeFi building blocks it funds on Cardano. All three take applications on a rolling basis.
