# Superteam grants paused: where Solana builders apply now

> Superteam grants (Solana Foundation Instagrants) are paused in every country as of October 2026. What changed, and six open Solana programs to try instead.

Last reviewed 2026-10-31. Dates are UTC.

Superteam grants are paused. As of October 2026, every regional "Solana Foundation Grants" listing on Superteam Earn, including India, the USA, the UK, Nigeria, Germany and Brazil, shows "Applications Paused", with no public reason or restart date. Solana builders can still apply directly to the Solana Foundation and to five other open Solana programs in web3grant's directory.

## Key takeaways

- All 21 regional Solana Foundation grant listings on Superteam Earn showed "Applications Paused" when we checked on October 1, 2026, and none had been updated since April 2026.
- When open, these Instagrants paid up to $10,000 in USDG, in tranches, to builders living in the listing's country; average grants ranged from about $4,800 (India, 127 grants) to $8,300 (USA, 22 grants).
- Jupiter DAO's grants on Superteam Earn also show as closed, after about $136,100 was approved at an average of $6,804 per grant.
- The only open Superteam grant we found was Superteam UK's $200 "Build for Breakpoint" agentic grant, which takes applications until November 14, 2026.
- The Solana Foundation, Solana Mobile, Metaplex DAO, Nosana, Render and DoubleZero grant programs were all open as of October 31, 2026.

## Are Superteam grants open?

No. Superteam Instagrants are small, equity-free grants that local Superteam chapters hand out on behalf of the Solana Foundation, with one listing per country on Superteam Earn. When we checked on October 1, 2026, all 21 regional listings, from Superteam India grants to the USA, UK, Nigeria, Germany and Brazil listings, showed "Applications Paused". The separate Touching Grass Fund listings, which paid up to $500 for community meetups, were paused too.

No announcement explains the pause or says when it ends. Superteam Nigeria still reported awarding grants in April 2026, so the pause most likely began in April or May 2026, but that is our inference, not a published date. Because nothing on the listings says when they return, we removed Superteam Instagrants from the directory; the official [Superteam Earn grants page](https://superteam.fun/earn/grants) is where a restart would show.

## How Superteam Instagrants worked

Knowing the old rules helps if the grants return, and it explains why the alternatives below feel different. According to the listings:

- **Amount:** $1 to $10,000 per grant, paid in the USDG stablecoin.
- **Who could apply:** only people living in the country or region of the listing, mostly solo builders, founders and small teams.
- **What counted:** proof of work, such as shipped projects, bounties or hackathon entries, over credentials. Several chapters expected a working prototype or live product rather than an idea.
- **Payment:** in tranches. The Nigeria listing, for example, paid 25% on approval and the rest as you met milestones you set yourself.
- **Checks:** KYC on Superteam Earn before payment, plus regular public progress updates.

Response times were short. The listings showed an average of 1 week for most countries and 30 days for India, Nigeria and the Balkans. Past grantees named on the Nigeria and UK pages include Verxio, Key Protocol and Lilypad.

## Other Superteam Earn grants and their status

Superteam Earn also hosted grants from other Solana organizations. Here is where every Superteam Earn grant we checked stood in early October 2026:

| Program | Size | Status |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Solana Foundation country Instagrants | Up to $10,000 in USDG | Applications Paused (all 21 listings) |
| Touching Grass Fund | Up to $500 | Paused |
| Jupiter DAO grants | Up to $10,000 in USDC | Shows "Closed" (checked Oct 2, 2026) |
| Solana Audit Subsidy Program | $5,000 to $50,000 audit subsidy | Form live; last cohort closed Mar 7, 2026 |
| Superteam UK "Build for Breakpoint" | $200 | Open, Sep 14 to Nov 14, 2026 |

Jupiter DAO's grants funded people filling gaps in the Jupiter community. About $136,100 had been approved when the listing closed, and the program description on the Jupiter forum was last edited in March 2025.

The Solana Audit Subsidy Program is a $1M pool from Areta with Superteam, MonkeDAO and Jito that covers up to 30% of an audit booked through Areta's Solana marketplace. It ran in monthly cohorts promoted on Superteam Earn. Areta's FAQ still called it active on October 1, 2026, and its form was live, but we found no cohort after Cohort VI, which closed on March 7, 2026. Confirm with Areta before you plan around it.

## Where Solana builders can apply now

### Which program fits your project

**Open-source tools and public goods:** apply to the [Solana Foundation](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/solana-foundation-grants) directly. Its grants are paid by milestone, the usable parts of the work must be public, and you have to explain why the project needs Solana rather than another chain. Mainly commercial projects are pointed to a convertible grant instead.

**Mobile apps:** [Solana Mobile Builder Grants](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/solana-mobile-builder-grants) fund mobile-first Android apps that integrate the Solana Mobile Stack, such as Mobile Wallet Adapter and Seed Vault, for Seeker and the Solana dApp Store. You need a milestone plan, a detailed budget and a record of shipping.

**NFTs and creator tools:** [Metaplex DAO Grants](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/metaplex-dao-grants) are voted on by MPLX holders and fund work that grows adoption of Metaplex standards such as Core. You must hold at least 200 MPLX to submit and pass KYC.

**AI and GPU compute:** [Nosana Grants](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/nosana-grants-program) pay $5,000 to $50,000 in USDC, NOS and GPU credits for AI apps and tools that run on Nosana's compute. The [Render Network Grants](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/render-foundation-grants) fund 3D artists, GPU apps, network tooling, events and education, starting from a short pitch.

**Network infrastructure:** [DoubleZero Grants](https://www.web3grant.com/grants/doublezero-grants-program) pay in 2Z, by milestone, for observability tools, dashboards and other infrastructure for the DoubleZero network, from teams independent of the DoubleZero Foundation.

## How applying to these programs differs from an Instagrant

Expect a longer, more formal process than an Instagrant. Instagrant listings answered most countries within about a week; for the Solana Foundation and Metaplex DAO our estimate is about 4 weeks, and Solana Mobile about 6. None of these numbers are published service levels.

Most of these programs also ask for more up front: a milestone plan with costs, evidence of past work and a clear reason the project belongs in their ecosystem. Our guide on [how to write a Web3 grant proposal](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/how-to-write-a-web3-grant-proposal) covers each section, and [small Web3 grants](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/small-web3-grants) lists other programs in the Instagrant size range on other chains.

Instagrants were organized by country. If you relied on a regional chapter, our guides to [Web3 grants in India and Latin America](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/web3-grants-india-latin-america) and [Web3 grants in Africa](https://www.web3grant.com/guides/web3-grants-africa) list programs that are open to applicants there. ## FAQ

### Why are Superteam grants paused?

No public reason has been given for the Superteam grants pause. The regional Solana Foundation listings on Superteam Earn simply show "Applications Paused", and we found no announcement from Superteam or the Solana Foundation explaining it or giving a restart date. The listings had last been updated by April 2026, and Superteam Nigeria still reported awarding grants that month.

### Can I still apply for Superteam India grants?

No. The Solana Foundation India Grants listing on Superteam Earn showed "Applications Paused" when we checked on October 1, 2026, like every other regional listing. Before the pause, the India listing had awarded 127 grants averaging about $4,800, with an average response time of 30 days. Indian Solana builders can apply to the Solana Foundation's own grant program instead.

### Will Superteam Instagrants come back?

Nobody has said. Superteam Instagrants show "Applications Paused" rather than closed, which suggests the listings could reopen, but no restart date or plan has been published. The Superteam Earn grants page is where a restart would appear, and web3grant will add the program back to the directory if applications reopen with clear rules.

### Do Solana Foundation grants have a maximum amount?

The Solana Foundation does not publish a minimum or maximum grant size. Its grants are paid by milestone, fund open-source work and free community resources that benefit the Solana network, and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Mainly commercial projects with a public good component are pointed to the Foundation's convertible grants rather than standard grants.

### Is the Solana Audit Subsidy Program still open?

The Solana Audit Subsidy Program was listed as active in Areta's FAQ on October 1, 2026, and its application form was live. The last cohort we could find, Cohort VI, closed on March 7, 2026, and no later deadline was published. The program covers up to 30% of an audit booked through Areta's Solana marketplace, from a $1M pool.
