About Btrust Education Grants
Btrust Education Grants fund programs that train and upskill Bitcoin developers, such as hands-on workshops, structured courses, internships and hackathons. The aim is to move more developers in Africa, Latin America, India and the rest of the Global South from learning about Bitcoin to contributing to open-source Bitcoin projects.
Individuals and organizations can apply if they have already run similar programs; Btrust is not accepting first-time educators or brand-new programs. Everything you produce must stay open-source and free to use, and your program must start at least 16 weeks after you apply. Grants usually run from six months to a year, and Btrust has started giving long-term support to proven programs so they don't have to reapply every year.
Applications are open all year. Btrust does not publish a grant range, but its first 2026 round gave $904,000 across five programs: Hack4Freedom, Summer of Bitcoin, Bitshala, Vinteum, and Librería de Satoshi with B4OS.
