About Walrus Grants and RFPs
Walrus is a decentralized storage and data availability network built on Sui. The Walrus Foundation funds builders working on verifiable data in two ways: requests for proposals for specific needs, and ecosystem grants.
RFPs are open to any individual, team or organization. Review starts about two weeks after an RFP opens, shortlisted proposals go to a committee vote, and usually one proposal is chosen per RFP. The winner signs an agreement with a budget paid against milestones.
Grants are not a form-based process. They go to teams the Foundation has got to know through Discord, events and referrals, and fund small, well-scoped deliverables or MVP-level experiments measured by KPIs such as developer usage, integrations and real storage activity on Walrus. Funded projects include a crowdfunding app, a creator publishing platform and a static site builder.
