XRPL grants in 2026: status and where to apply
Updated 7 min readBy the web3grant editors
XRPL grants are not taking applications as of our October 29, 2026 check. The XRPL Grants portal, now branded RippleX Ecosystem Programs, says there are no open calls, and xrplgrants.org says only that new programming will be announced in October 2026, with no dates. Until a call is posted, XRP Ledger builders have to look at payments, stablecoin and multichain programs elsewhere.
Key takeaways
- When we checked on October 1, 2026, the XRPL Grants application portal listed no open calls for applications, and our October 29 recheck found no new call.
- xrplgrants.org says new programming "will be announced in October 2026"; nothing had been published when we rechecked on October 29.
- When the program was open, its FAQ listed grants of $10,000 to $200,000 paid on milestones, for DeFi, RWA tokenization, payments and trade finance.
- The two fall accelerators still shown on the XRPL Grants homepage are not open: Brinc's Hong Kong program says applications are closed, and Tenity's Singapore program closed on July 25, 2026.
- Payments and RWA teams can apply now to programs such as the Stellar Community Fund, whose SCF #46 round closes November 8, 2026.
Are XRPL grants open right now?
No. As of October 29, 2026 there is no XRPL grant you can apply to. The application portal at submit.xrplgrants.org, which now carries the RippleX Ecosystem Programs name, says there are no open calls for applications. The main site promises new programming in October 2026 but gives no date, budget or format.
Here is what each XRPL route showed when we checked:
| Route | Status | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| XRPL Grants portal (RippleX Ecosystem Programs) | No open calls | Oct 1, 2026 |
| xrplgrants.org announcement | "New programming in October 2026", nothing published | Oct 29, 2026 |
| Brinc XRPL accelerator, Hong Kong | Applications closed | Oct 1, 2026 |
| Tenity program, Singapore | Applications closed Jul 25, 2026; cohort runs Oct 5 to Nov 13, 2026 | Oct 1, 2026 |
People also call the program XRP grants or XRP Ledger grants; it is the same program. If a page outside xrplgrants.org says it is open, check that it links to a live call on the official portal before you spend time on an application.
What XRPL grants paid when they were open
According to the program's own FAQ, XRPL grants ranged from $10,000 to $200,000 and were paid on milestones. The FAQ splits the money roughly 30% for product and integration work and 70% for growth. The focus areas were DeFi, real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, payments and trade finance.
That split matters if you are planning for the next call. With most of the money tied to growth, the program suited teams with something live to grow, not teams at the idea stage. If the new programming keeps that shape, a working integration and real usage numbers will count for more than a roadmap.
We do not know whether the October 2026 programming will keep these amounts, the milestone split or the focus areas. Nothing about it had been published by October 29.
How to know when XRPL grants reopen
Check the source directly. The XRPL Grants site is where the new programming is supposed to be announced, and the portal at submit.xrplgrants.org is where applications would open. A call that does not appear on either is not an XRPL grant.
Three practical steps while you wait:
- Prepare the parts most grants ask for: a one-page project summary, a milestone plan with costs, and usage data. Our guide on how to write a Web3 grant proposal covers each section.
- Be wary of anyone who contacts you about an XRPL grant and asks for a fee, a wallet seed or a token purchase. Our page on crypto grant scams lists the common patterns.
- Sign up for email alerts and check the deadline calendar. If XRPL Grants opens a call that meets our listing rules, we will add it to the directory.
Where XRP Ledger builders can apply instead
The closest matches are programs that fund payments, stablecoins and tokenized assets, which were XRPL Grants' own focus areas. Most of them require you to build on their chain, so read the eligibility rules before you plan a port. The table shows programs in web3grant's directory that were open as of October 31, 2026.
| Program | Chain | Fits | Grant size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stellar Community Fund | Stellar | Payments, stablecoins, anchors, RWAs | Up to $150K in XLM |
| Circle Developer Grants | Arc | Stablecoin payments, FX, treasury, lending | Not published, paid in USDC |
| Palladium Labs Canton Grants | Canton | Institutional DeFi, RWA tokenization | Up to 1M CC (about $148K) |
| Hashgraph Innovation Program | Hedera | Enterprise digital assets, DeFi | Not published |
| Tether Grants and Bounties | Multichain | Wallets, tooling on Tether's open stack | $1,500 to $5,000 |
| HTX DAO Genesis Grant | Multichain | Payments, wallets, DeFi, RWA | Not published, paid in HTX |
| The Graph Grants Program | Multichain | Data services, indexing, dashboards | $1,000 to $325K in GRT |
Payments, stablecoin and RWA teams
The Stellar Community Fund is the nearest fit for an XRPL payments team. It funds payments, stablecoin and anchor integrations, DeFi on Soroban and tokenized real-world assets, with milestone awards of up to $150,000 in XLM. You need a team ready to ship on Stellar mainnet within six months, and every contributor must pass KYC. SCF #46 closes on November 8, 2026. More options are on the Stellar grants page.
Circle Developer Grants pay in USDC for payments, FX, lending and treasury products built on Arc and Circle's stack, and they ask for evidence of usage, pilots, partners or revenue, or a credible path to them. Palladium Labs funds DeFi and RWA protocols on the Canton Network from a 10M Canton Coin fund. For more programs that pay in or fund stablecoins, see our guide to stablecoin grants.
Teams that do not want to switch chains
Multichain programs are not tied to one chain, so some may fund work you can do without porting your product. Tether Grants and Bounties pay $1,500 to $5,000 in USDT or bitcoin for defined tasks on Tether's open stack, such as wallet infrastructure. The Graph funds data services and tooling built with Subgraphs and Substreams. HTX DAO's Genesis Grant funds payments, wallets, DeFi and RWA projects from a $10M fund, paid in HTX on milestones.
Each of these funds work on its own product or protocol, not XRPL work as such. Your application has to make the case for their ecosystem.
Should you move to another chain for a grant?
Only if the product makes sense there without the grant. Chain grants fund work on that chain and end at the last milestone, so a port built only to win funding has to pay for itself afterwards. A one-off grant does not cover a second codebase you will maintain for years.
A safer approach is to apply where your existing work already fits, such as a multichain program, or to wait for the XRPL call if your product depends on XRP Ledger features. Our guide on how to choose a Web3 grant program walks through that decision. For the wider picture of programs that stopped or paused this year, see Web3 grant programs closed or paused in 2026.
FAQ
Will XRPL grants reopen?
XRPL Grants says new programming will be announced in October 2026, but when we rechecked on October 29, 2026 nothing had been published and no date was given. The site does not say whether the new programming will be grants, accelerators or something else. Watch xrplgrants.org, where the new programming is to be announced, and the application portal at submit.xrplgrants.org.
How much did XRPL grants pay?
XRPL grants paid $10,000 to $200,000 per project, according to the program's FAQ. Payments were tied to milestones, with roughly 30% for product and integration work and 70% for growth. The focus areas were DeFi, RWA tokenization, payments and trade finance. These figures describe the program before the current pause and may change when new programming is announced.
Are the XRPL accelerator programs open?
No. The XRPL Grants homepage still lists two fall accelerators as open, but neither takes applications. Brinc's Hong Kong program says applications are closed. Tenity's Singapore program closed applications on July 25, 2026, and its cohort runs from October 5 to November 13, 2026. Both statuses come from each program's own page as of October 1, 2026.
Is RippleX Ecosystem Programs the same as XRPL Grants?
RippleX Ecosystem Programs is the current name on the XRPL Grants application portal at submit.xrplgrants.org. When we checked on October 1, 2026, the portal under that name said there were no open calls for applications. XRP grants and XRP Ledger grants are other names builders use for the same program, so all three point to this one paused portal.
Can I apply for XRPL grants through web3grant?
No. web3grant is a directory and never takes applications for any program. XRPL grants are not listed in the directory because there is no open call to apply to. When XRPL Grants posts new programming, you will apply on its own site, and we will add the program to the directory if it meets our listing rules.
