About Open Source AGI Grants
Sentient Foundation, the nonprofit behind the Sentient open AGI network, runs a $42M program for developers, researchers and companies building AI in the open. One application covers two tracks: grants with no equity, lockups or claim on your work, and founder-friendly investments for companies built to scale.
The grant track is for open-source maintainers, researchers, independent developers and public-goods builders. You do not need to open-source your whole stack, but at least one essential part (model, weights, code, data or evals) must be something anyone can run, inspect and build on.
The foundation publishes a list of open source AI requests for products in two halves: apps for underserved people, such as offline medical guidance, scam protection and language tutoring, and the infrastructure that makes them trustworthy, such as on-device personal AI, model verification, agent identity and private compute.
