About Monero CCS
The CCS is how the Monero community funds work on Monero. You publish a proposal, the community discusses it, and once the Core Team sees rough consensus the proposal opens for donations in XMR. The Core Team holds the funds in escrow and releases them as milestones are completed.
Most recent proposals pay developers for three months of full-time or part-time work on the Monero codebase, on Cuprate (a Rust Monero node) and on related tools. Past proposals have also covered research, third-party resources and conference travel.
Funding is not guaranteed: you have to build support for your own proposal, and a proposal can sit in Funding Required for months. All work must be permissively licensed from the start.

How applying works
- 1
Open a merge request
Write your proposal with milestones and payouts and submit it to the CCS proposals repo on Monero's GitLab.
- 2
Community discussion
The community gives feedback and you revise until the Core Team sees loose consensus.
- 3
Crowdfunding
The merged proposal moves to Funding Required and collects XMR donations until it is fully funded.
- 4
Milestone payouts
You post a report per milestone and the Core Team releases escrowed XMR when it is accepted.
