Monad grants: is there a Monad grant program in 2026?
Updated 5 min readBy the web3grant editors
There are no Monad grants to apply for as of October 2026. When we checked on October 1, 2026, monad.xyz/grants returned a 404, and neither Monad's Developer Hub, its llms.txt file nor its 156-page sitemap mentioned grants. The Monad Foundation backs builders with investment, prizes and credits instead, through programs such as the Nitro accelerator, online hackathons and AI Blueprint.
Key takeaways
- The Monad Foundation published no grant program as of October 1, 2026; monad.xyz/grants returns 404.
- Nitro gives 15 teams $500,000 each from Paradigm, Electric Capital, Dragonfly and Castle Island, which makes it investment rather than a grant; cohort 1 closed on March 14, 2026 and no next cohort is announced.
- Monad's other builder programs are prizes (the Metropolis hackathon and Monad Madness), in-person programs (Foundry and the Founder Residency) and credits (AI Blueprint).
- Berachain, Sei, Movement and Somnia also had no grant program you could apply to when we checked in early October 2026.
- EVM builders can apply now to open programs such as Gravity Developer Grants (up to $200,000) and the Reactive Dev Fund, or to audit subsidies on Avalanche, Arbitrum and Ethereum.
Does Monad have a grant program?
No. As of October 2026 the Monad Foundation publishes no grant program. On October 1, 2026 we checked:
- monad.xyz/grants: returns 404.
- The Developer Hub: lists no grants.
- llms.txt and the sitemap: neither Monad's llms.txt file nor its 156-page sitemap mentions grants.
Our research classes Monad as "unclear": not a program that closed, but one we could find no way to apply to. Monad does put money into builders, just not as grants.
How does Monad fund builders instead?
The Monad Foundation's builder support comes as investment, prizes and credits. Here is what each program is, as of our October 2026 check:
| Program | What it gives | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Nitro | $500,000 each to 15 teams, from Paradigm, Electric Capital, Dragonfly and Castle Island | Cohort 1 closed March 14, 2026; no next cohort announced |
| Metropolis | Online hackathon with a $250,000+ prize pool | Ran September 1 to October 13, 2026 |
| Monad Madness | Pitch competition with prizes | No open call recorded in our data |
| Foundry and Founder Residency | In-person programs | No open call recorded in our data |
| AI Blueprint | Credits and service discounts | Rolling since November 18, 2025 |
Each of these differs from a grant in a way that matters for planning:
- Investment usually means giving up equity or tokens. Our guide to Web3 grants vs venture capital explains the trade-off.
- Prizes are paid after the work, only to winners, on the competition's terms. See Web3 hackathons vs grants.
- Credits and discounts lower your costs but put no cash in your account.
What about Berachain, Sei, Movement and Somnia?
Several other high-profile chains also had no grant program you could apply to in early October 2026:
| Chain | What we found | Checked |
|---|---|---|
| Berachain | Could not be verified: berachain.com and its blog returned a security checkpoint (HTTP 429) to every request. The docs and GitHub mention no grant program, and the forum's only funding call is a one-off RFP from July 30, 2025 | October 1, 2026 |
| Sei | sei.io/grants returns 404; the "grants and funding" page gives no amounts, criteria or form; the last calls were RFPs from March and September 2025 | October 1, 2026 |
| Movement | /grants redirects to the homepage; Movement now presents itself as a settlement and yield layer for stablecoin payments; the M1 Hackathon paid $30,000 in prizes (winners announced February 5, 2026) | October 1, 2026 |
| Somnia | A $10M developer grant program was announced around its late-2024 devnet launch, but somnia.network/grants returns 404 and no new round has been announced since January 2026 | October 2, 2026 |
Berachain is the one to recheck: our researchers could not load its main site, so its status is unverified rather than confirmed closed. Sei's 2025 Monaco RFP asked applicants to apply by direct message on X, which is not a process we can list.
Where can EVM builders apply instead?
Monad is EVM-compatible, so a Solidity codebase built for it can usually be deployed on other EVM chains with modest changes. That widens your options to every EVM chain with an open program. These take applications as of October 31, 2026:
- Gravity Developer GrantsGravityUp to $200KAnytime
- Reactive Dev FundReactive NetworkUndisclosedAnytime
- Ink Spark grantsInk Foundation$500–$20KAnytime
- Unichain GrantsUniswap FoundationUp to $7.5KAnytime
- RootstockCollective GrantsRootstockCollectiveUp to $35KAnytime

- IOK FundKaia DLT FoundationUp to $20KAnytime
What each wants:
- Gravity Developer Grants pay up to $200,000 in G for dApps and infrastructure that run only on Gravity or treat it as a primary network. You need a live mainnet product or a detailed go-to-market plan.
- The Reactive Dev Fund pays milestone funding in REACT from a $3M fund for EVM-compatible, event-driven dApps, with a typical decision in about 2 weeks.
- Ink Spark pays 500 to 20,000 USDC for live products on Ink, and Unichain Grants pay up to $7,500 for live DeFi projects with at least $250,000 in TVL.
- RootstockCollective Grants fund projects on Rootstock, the EVM-compatible Bitcoin sidechain, with up to $35,000 in USDRIF voted by RIF stakers.
- Team1 Builder Grants give mini grants of up to $10,000 to early Avalanche builders; see Avalanche grants for more.
- The Kaia IOK Fund pays go-to-market grants of up to about $20,000 in KAIA to dApps launched or launching within one to two months.
Audit subsidies for EVM teams
If the cost in front of you is an audit, three programs pay part of it:
- Ava Labs Security Audit ProgramAva LabsUndisclosedAnytime
- Arbitrum Security ProgramArbitrum FoundationUndisclosedAnytime
- Ethereum Audit Subsidy ProgramEthereum FoundationUndisclosedAnytime
Ava Labs can cover up to 75% of an audit for Avalanche projects, the Arbitrum Foundation pays approved auditors directly, and the Ethereum Foundation's pool covers up to 30% for teams on Ethereum mainnet. Our guide to layer 2 grants covers the rollup side in more detail, and how to apply for Web3 grants covers the process.
FAQ
Is Monad Nitro a grant?
No. Monad Nitro is an accelerator that gives 15 teams $500,000 each, with the money coming from the venture firms Paradigm, Electric Capital, Dragonfly and Castle Island, so web3grant classes it as investment rather than a grant. Nitro's first cohort closed to applications on March 14, 2026, and no next cohort had been announced when we checked on October 1, 2026.
Is there a Monad hackathon I can enter?
The Metropolis online hackathon, with a prize pool of more than $250,000, ran from September 1 to October 13, 2026, so it has ended. Monad lists its hackathons on its developer site, which is the place to watch for the next one. Hackathon prizes go only to winning teams, so they work best as a supplement to other funding, not as a plan.
Does Berachain have a grant program?
web3grant could not verify Berachain's status. On October 1, 2026, berachain.com and the Berachain blog returned a security checkpoint to every request, so the main site could not be read. Berachain's official docs and GitHub mention no grant program, and its governance forum has no grants category; the only funding call there was a one-off RFP posted on July 30, 2025.
Will Monad launch a grant program?
The Monad Foundation has not announced one. As of October 2026 it funds builders through investment, prizes, in-person programs and credits, and nothing on its site, docs or sitemap mentions grants. If that changes, web3grant will add a Monad grant program once it has a working way to apply; email alerts are the easiest way to hear about it.
